APPLETON, Wis (WFRV) -- The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center’s 2008/09 season had a “Wicked” impact on Appleton’s bottom line.  Today, the Center’s Annual Report to the Community was released, showing that during the 2008/09 season, the Fox Cities P.A.C. had an economic impact of $18,286,414.  That was slightly higher than the Center's average of $12,586,000 due to the extended engagement of Wicked.   Lynn Peters, executive director of the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau, said, "Wicked had a significant tourism impact, bringing visitors from all around the state. In addition to their tickets, they spent money on hotel rooms, meals and after-show drinks, and some even found time to do a little shopping.”  The P.A.C. also had a record attendance of 27,324 at the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Education Series, a program specifically designed to compliment classroom curriculum for students in grades PreK-12.
