There is a changing of the guard at the top of the states second largest farm organization. Sue Carlson who has been the president of the Wisconsin Farmers Union since 2003 is stepping down as of September 30th. Carlson who recently married North Dakota Farmers Union President Robert Carlson is moving to Jamestown, North Dakota to be with her husband. Carlson says the timing is right for both her and the organization to make the move and even though the decision was a difficult one it was made much simpler when Doug Caruso agreed to take over the role as the organizations President and CEO. Caruso who briefly served as the National Director of the Farm Service Agency had served the Farmers Union as the chief operating officer of the Wisconsin Farmers Specialty Cheese Company.
