Green Bay Bullfrogs Owner Jeff Royle told the Green Bay Press-Gazette this morning that he has a verbal agreement in place to purchase the Green Bay Blizzard arena football team.  Royle had set a midnight deadline yesterday on his offer, and said he received a call from one of the partners from the Blizzard ownership group at around 10:45 PM saying it had been accepted.

The Blizzard's future was in doubt, following the discontinuation of the AF2 after the completion of the 2009 season.  Former Arena Football League and AF2 teams have combined to form a new league, Arena Football 1, that will begin play in 2010.  Yesterday, former Blizzard coach and part owner Bob Landsee was introduced as the new head coach of the Milwaukee Iron, who will play in AF1.

Royle told the Press-Gazette that the Blizzard will either play in AF1 (their deadline to join that league is Thursday) or the Indoor Football League.
