Fond du Lac Springs runs past Arcadia

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Seniors Anthony Parker and Brian Fellers each ran for more than 100 yards to carry Fond du Lac Springs to a 42-7 victory over Arcadia in the WIAA Division 5 state final Thursday.

Parker finished with 116 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, while Fellers added 107 yards and a score on 18 attempts for the Ledgers (14-0).

Senior quarterback Mitchell Beau also had a pair of touchdown runs as Springs rolled up 469 total yards in a light rain at Camp Randall Stadium. It was the second WIAA state championship for the Ledgers, who won the Division 6 crown in 2002, and the 10th in school history.

Junior Reid Christ scored on a 12-yard run midway through the third quarter for Arcadia (11-3), which needed to win its final regular-season game to qualify for the playoffs.

Walker powers Walworth Big Foot to 1st state title

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Senior Michael Walker has rushed for 255 yards and set a WIAA Division 4 state finals record with five touchdowns to help Walworth Big Foot storm past Kewaunee 42-13 to win its first state title.  Walker had touchdown runs of 17, 1, 48 and 32 yards Thursday night and hauled in a 29-yard scoring pass from senior quarterback Steven Dowden at Camp Randall Stadium to become just the second person to score five TDs in a WIAA state final.

The Chiefs (14-0) were able to celebrate a year after losing to Wautoma-Faith Christian 20-0 in the 2008 final. But the loss was the fourth in as many championship appearances for the Indians (13-1).
